Brake calipers have hydraulic pistons that, when the brake pedal is depressed, squeeze the brake pads against the rotating brake discs to slow your Land Rover down. Over time the brake pistons can seize, or the seals start to leak. This can cause a loss of brake efficiency or brake failure. It is recommended to replace the brake discs and pads when replacing a brake caliper.
